Vehicle Burglary in Boca Raton

Boca Raton, Florida detectives are investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred in the early morning hours of June 16, 2018 at the Hampton Inn in Boca Raton.

The following coins were stolen:

  • 2 Gold American Eagles (0.5 oz.)
  • 14 Gold Krugerrands (1 oz.)
  • 138 Silver American Eagles (1 oz.)
  • 215 Silver Canadian Maple Leafs (1 oz.)

Total: 16 gold coins, 353 silver coins = 369 total coins.

Also taken was a Glock Model 30.

The detective working this case is Detective Gama of the Boca Raton PD. Her number is (561) 620-6234.

Residential Burglary

Confederate & Southern States Obsolete currency was the target of a residential burglary in Raleigh, North Carolina on the night of June 14 or 15, 2018. The suspects entered the residence and torched the safe.

Multiples of above CSA notes, a couple or so cancelled. Two with different reverse with Roman Numerals. One with heavy type overlay on reverse.

Bad Checks

The Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC) recently sent out an alert regarding a suspect identified as Jessica Lynn Bivins for writing bad checks. NCIC has been assisting agencies in Montana and has recently received additional information from the Forney, Texas Police Department.

Bivins, along with an associate identified as Wayne William Rice, have been responsible for writing worthless checks to Antique/Coin/Pawn shops across the country during the past few months. Losses are estimated between $50,000-$100,000.

The suspects were in San Antonio, Texas on July 2, 2018 and supposedly hit several businesses with bad checks. On July 5, 2018 they were in Fredricksburg, TX. The suspects may have been in Abilene through Sunday, July 8, 2018. It is believed they are leaving Abilene and heading to Denver, Colorado. They are possibly driving a gold/beige – four door – Buick or Dodge Stratus/Intrepid.

FedEx Truck Robbed

A package being sent to a client by Goldberg’s was taken during a FedEx delivery van robbery in Portugal last week. The package contained 27 ancient coins all from Goldberg’s Auction #104.
