The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2019 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Enhanced Reverse Proof Coin (product code 19XE) on November 14 at noon EST. The coin is priced at $65.95 USD.

This coin has created a huge buzz in the collector and dealer community as everyone tries to figure out how to get as many as possible. Why? This coin will have the same mintage as the key coin in the series, the 1995-W Proof, which was only available in the 1995 10th Anniversary Gold Eagle Proof Set. In short, this is going to be an instant money maker.

We just went to eBay to see the pre-sale offers. They range generally from $400 to a high of $1,000. Might even be more. See for yourselfhttps://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=2019+American+Eagle+One+Ounce+Silver+Enhanced+Reverse+Proof+Coin&_sacat=0&_pgn=2

And this doesn’t take into account what a Certified PR-70 is going to end up bringing… your guess is as good as ours. But we want to make sure that CoinWeek Collectors have the best chance to get one of these coins if that fits into your collecting plans.

A long-time collector favorite, this beautifully rendered coin is struck at the Mint’s San Francisco facility. Its obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty design depicting a full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.

Each coin is encapsulated and packaged in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case, placed in a classic blue outer box. For the first time, the Mint has numbered the Certificate of Authenticity that accompanies each coin. The number on each Certificate of Authenticity does not reflect the order in which each coin was minted.

Production of this coin is limited to 30,000 units. Orders will be limited to one per household indefinitely.

  1. I missed out. Did everything you said to do on the article, had the coin in my cart, and then the website kept freezing on me and saying “oops, something went wrong”. Around 11:15am it finally showed up. Went to pay for it and it said the item is no longer in your cart. Awesome.

    • Same thing happened to me. This usually happens when a low mintage coin goes on sale. I bet it will be on sale through some coin site on the internet for $500 or more.

    • I have yet to see anything like this dishonest system once the item is “in your cart” it simply vanishes leaving that sick feeling

  2. I did everything right…was on line in my account before the clock struck 12….once I put the coin in my
bag and tried to check out, the screen went to a white page….each time it came up i was able to
fill in one more space, then when i hit place order I received a message that the enhanced reverse
proof silver eagle was sold out….what a crock of (you know what). Now I would have to purchase on
the secondary market and they are asking 5 times more than the mint. I am so disgusted with the
mint. This is so unfair as all the dealers get their quantities off the top and then rip the consumer off
with outrageous pricing. Disappointed to say the least! Kathleen Capo

  3. I had one in my cart, entering my credit card number, in the middle of processing my order at 12:01, and I got an “oops” message, never able to recover. The best if my knowledge, this coin sold out in 14 minutes. Oh well, struck out again. Im about to give up on the mint services.

  4. I had the same problem as everyone else but I kept refreshing and refreshing and refreshing…after being in and bounced with the “oops” messages for about 12-13 minutes I finally got all the way through and got my order! What a test of patience! I received my order confirmation at 12:14….phew!

  5. Me too I even had all my credit card info pre entered and I got the OPPS something went wrong, and the phones line were off the hook after a bullshit recording. I am SOOOOO PISSED!!!

  6. I did it all as well. Finally had one in my bag . My preloaded pay info did not work. I had to put in all the card info and in the middle , oops refresh! And when I finally refreshed still with the one in my cart. Item is no longer available. That is not right , that they cannot compensate the demand . Its unfair I started at 1200 am even and finished at 1215 am with nothing. Doesn’t make sense!!!

  7. I was calling and trying to order on the mint’s website at 11:59 am…no luck, coin was gone before 12:30~! What’ makes me mad is Mike on HSN will be selling them for tons of money bragging how many he got. Just saw some on ebay for $2,000. Oh well, once again money and connections win out~!

  8. What A Sham!!, I was on the website 10 minutes prior to 9am. Got kicked off the website at 9am. Got back on and put a coin in my bag. Went to purchase, and the website kick me off again. The website kicked me off 5x after 10 tries. Hour later, the coin was still in bag, would not let me buy, said not available. This whole process was a sham. I was on the site buying the coin, and I kicked off. I will NEVER purchase this coin. In reality this coin is worth about $150.00. It is one of 140,000 enhanced proofs made in 2019. The rarest of the series is the Canadian set, limited to 10,000..

  9. I had the same time with the mint on the 14th. Item in bag, go to checkout and ooops… by the time I finally got the checkout page to load the Eagle was sold out, or so I thought. I went back to the mint’s web site this morning.. the 15th… and the “buy now” was there, so I placed my order and got a confirmation from the mint. Refreshing the product page and the “buy” button was gone. Keep checking back, I don’t think they sold all 30,000.

  10. took about ten or more refreshes but at 12:06 my order was confirmed.. thank god i really wanted this one and as long as im alive it will live RAW in my collection..

  11. Same experience as Bootsy, had coin in bag, but when refreshed page it required me to refill info on my pay method , dont understand??? Already had acct with Mint using my Amex card, why did I have to fill out info again, this happened each time page was refreshed.

  12. There is a lot of people crying about not getting a coin here. Reality is 4 out of 5 failed. There were too many buyers on at once and so there were processing issues. It is just a coin and you guys are adults. No need to cry. Yes you may have to pay more on the secondary market, but that’s life. I do it all the time. There are many reputable dealers out there. Yes they will sell at higher prices but those are market prices.
